Adding RFI capacitors to NPC 2212 motors - 3

From the Vantec motor controller manual:

"A MOV should be installed directly across the motor brushes and a .001 ufd ceramic disc capacitor directly across each motors brushes and between each brush and their motor case for RFI protection."

When you buy a Vantec controller you get a packet of components: two MOV's (metal oxide varistor) - they are black and shiny with wire leads, and 6 to 8 ceramic disc capacitors - they are small and tan colored with wire leads.

I disassembled the NPC motors, and soldered the components across the brush terminals as instructed.

I get virtually zero RFI now, whereas before I did the procedure, my audio system would hum and squeal every time I moved the joystick to apply power to the drive motors.
